Sharp has just announced a new netbook model, Mebius PC-NJ70A, in Japan. While the netbook comes with a standard 10.1-inch screen, an Atom N270 CPU, an Intel 945GSE Express Chipset, 1GB of RAM, and 160GB of HDD, what's really special about this netbook is the LCD display and trackpad combo -- an 854 x 480 resolution LCD right onto the palm rest, which automatically adjusts brightness based on surrounding light and can likely act as a secondary display for things like adjusting an equalizer with your digits.
According to Akibahara News, the optical sensor LCD is really cool that it has a handwriting recognition feature which allows you to write email / memo using a stylus or finger. You can also do some cool tricks like playing piano, zoom out and in on document like you will do with an iphone and so on!
